Trip to Lazy Days, Tampa Fl

Location: 6130 Lazy Days Boulevard, Seffner, FL 33584, USA
We decided to take a trip to the largest RV dealer in the world, Lazy Days, Tampa, FL.  We wandered around looking at various used RV's to inspire us for ideas for ours.  Possible upgrades, modifications or little neat add-ons.  We went through hundreds of different RVs of all price ranges.  We actually became more happy with ours the more we looked.
Sue was adamant that she had to find another RV with a dish washer.  The latest trend is stack able washer/ dryers but no longer put in dishwashers.
We finally met a salesman, Mario, who spent a lot of time explaining the subtle nuances of better model RVs versus some of the cheaper ones.  He took us to many higher end RV's ($900,000) until Sue got to see one with her dishwasher!!

Then of course we hit the RV bar cafe for happy hour!

Location: 3390 Gandy Boulevard, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA
Robert's mobile home and RV park, Gandy blvd, St. Petersburg, FL.  Our site is 228 Herbie Lane.  We picked this one because it has a tree.   We have set up our home for the month.   There are many empty sites.   They will probably fill as the colder weather approaches.

Breezy Oaks RV park

This park was discovered in Passport America directory.  We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay near Bushnell, Fl.  We are planning on getting our RV weighed in Bushnell.   We also planned on taking our time to get to Florida,  but looking at the arctic blast forecast we decided to head into Florida sooner.    We pulled into this RV park,  it is $12.50 a night with full hook ups.  Wow!    It is right near the highway  and traffic noise is prevalent.   Otherwise, I like this place,   The manager, Mary, is a very nice friendly lady.   Our site is large,   There is a nice place to walk the dogs,  The pool is clean and big.   We sat by the pool yesterday and had drinks while listening to a music jam of country music and ice cream social.

Smartweigh

Today we took the RV and the tow car to get weighed.   It was done at an Escapees RV park, Sumter RV park in Bushnell, Fl.    We had to unhook at our campground and load up everything to get weighed 2 miles away.   We arrived and there were two guys assisting us to get weighed.   Gaylord and another man took the scales and weighed all the wheels of the RV and the tow dolly and Hyundai.   We found out that the height of our vehicle is 12'6".   We found out that our right rear side is heavier than the left. This was informative and now we will plan or RV packing accordingly.

Don Garlits Museum of drag Racing, Ocala, Fl

Today was a visit to Don Garlits Museum,   It was only 30 minutes from our rv  campgound.   The admission was $16 per person with a triple A discount.  There are many cars to see.   The museum takes several hours to tour.   If you stop and read everything it would take all day.   It was very informative.  There was also items in the museum that were not just cars.   There was an air raid siren, powered by a gigantic engine and a lawn mower that anyone would make anyone want to mow the lawn and antique slot machines.

Mossy Oaks RV Park, Jesup, GA

11/7/14 to 11/9/14 we rolled in to Jesup, GA and spent the night at Mossy Oaks RV Park.  Named after the Mossy Oak Tree in the front of the park.  It is a very nice quiet RV park.  They take Passport America so it was $15.00 for a night with full hook ups.  The park is meticulously maintained.
We used this park as a base station to go to Savannah Georgia.
We went to the historic district and took a trolley tour of the area.  Quite a few historic places are very well preserved.

Well worth a stop.

Side trip to Savannah, GA

I decided to take a quick car trip to check out Savannah, GA.   It worked out we would have to go today because we were heading southwest away from Savannah after this stop.   I went on line to get trolley car tour tickets.   That is when I discovered there was a hge marathon going on that day in the city.    We decided to g anyway.  We took the hour and a half drive.  We stopped at Lowes on the way and checked out washer dryer combos and continued on.   We arrived in Savannah went to the trolley tour place and bought tickets and parked the car.   We walked to an area and went inside and got a Georgia peach sangria for our walk.    We waited a while for our trolley.   We boarded and took a tour of historic Savannah, GA.   I bought some Georgia pecans and peach cookies.   We had lunch at a river side restaurant.   Then went back to our car.   On the way home we stopped for some fresh produce.   We returned home to our RV where I had been slow cooking a brisket all day.  Mmmm

Graystone Ranch, GA

Thanks again to Harvest Hosts!  We spent the night (11/5/14) at the ranch.  We arrived later so we didn't do the tour of the animals,  but they do offer a tour through the ranch property which is also an animal rescue for $10. The people were very friendly and survive off of donations. Needless to say we donated to them.  Another highly recommended spot stop.

Watermelon Creek Vineyard

Thanks to Harvest Hosts,  we spent the night at an awesome vineyard in Georgia. We arrived yesterday, and of course immediately, experienced their wine tasting.  They use Muscadine grade so their wines are sweeter, like a good juice. All of their wines were very good.  We bought a couple of bottles and had some excellent conversation about religion.  Highly recommend stopping here in your travels.

Saluda Shoals Park, Bush River Rd., Columbia, SC

This park was a nice find.   While getting tires installed on the RV we were looking for a place to walk the dogs.   We went to this park where it was $5 entry.   It is a beautiful park,    There is a large fenced dog park,  with the cutest dog bone shaped play pools for the pooches and dog watering fountains.    There are trails to walk the dogs.   There is a paved walking path along a river.    They are currently preparing for a Christmas drive though show.    There was a nice playground.  Keera brought the kids and we enjoyed it.   We enjoyed this park for two days due to visiting our southern area RV repair place.

Mr Z's rv park

we stayed here after getting our tires put on today.  $18 full hook ups through passport america.   Good for a quick stop.   Close to our neighbors,  no shower rooms.

Southern tire

Today our RV gets new sneakers.   We have decided to get them at Southern Tire  in Columbia, SC.  The reason is one year ago on a trip to CT we broke down,  we called for help and Southern Tire came out.  They spent 2 hours going through the RV and discovered a faulty little relay.   It was replaced and we were back on the road.   We wanted to give them our return business as a loyalty.   We called for tire prices and scheduled this visit.   We arrived the night before our appointment and parked in front of the building where we slept in our RV.  The next day they installed the tires.   They were friendly and professional and we did not have to worry about our stuff inside the RV.  They are very trustworthy.
